Event Description:
Our Slow Food friends, Clyde's Restaurant Group, owner of 13 restaurants across the DC area, has opened the barn door and garden gate to welcome Slow Food members and friends to a tour of their organic gardens- where all their veggies used in their restaurants grow- and a 5 course farm dinner!
They will also give out a special prize to celebrate Clyde's farm at Willow Creek Farm: a $100 voucher for dinner for two at Clyde's Willow Creek Farm.
This year's speakers include:
- Executive Vice President of CRG Tom Meyer, who was one of the 1st chefs in Washington to start a farm-to-restaurant program 25 ears ago -Janet Terry, who as a private citizen, started a farmers' market in Olney,MD-an amazing tale! - Ann Yonkers, co-director of the famous FRESHfarm Market Group, talks about her successful farm market venture and presents the "apple as earth" demonstration. - Mary Watson, former sommelier of Landsdowne Resort in Leesburg, VA. Ms. Watson will discuss the growth of Virginia wineries, and biodynamic wines.
